Sahmura Gonzalez is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach and Personal Trainer living in NYC.

 

Sahmura is a National Board Certified Health & Wellness Coach (NBC-HWC) and a NASM Certified Personal Trainer. She holds a B.A. from Sarah Lawrence College, and completed her Integrative Health Coaching Professional Training at the Department of Integrative Medicine at Duke University. Over the 10+ years that Sahmura has spent in the fitness, health, and wellness industry she has trained and coached over 20,000+ sessions and worked with hundreds of clients with a wide variety of goals and abilities.

Her coaching model is built on the principle that she wants everyone she works with to feel understood, supported in their autonomy to make choices that are right for them, and confident their bodies and in their capacity to carry out behaviors needed to achieve their desired changes. Her goal is for her clients to learn how to make sustainable lifestyle and health behavior changes and how to navigate bumps and lapses because they are a natural part of life.

As often as she can, Sahmura travels back to her home state of Oregon to visit her parents, two sisters, and six nieces and nephews.

She enjoys a good jigsaw puzzle, going to Brighton Beach and Coney Island all times of the year, and has way too many plants in her apartment.
